Polaris Snowmobile Parts FAQs

Q: How do I identify my Polaris snowmobile?
A: To identity your Polaris snowmobile, you’ll need the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Find your VIN on the right side tunnel between the certification and emissions certification labels. For snowmobiles manufactured before 1997, the Vin will be seven digits. Those produced after 1997 have 17 digits. You can then go to your local DMV to learn more about your snowmobile or use a VIN search tool online to identify it.

Q: Are all Polaris snowmobile keys the same?
A: No. However, Polaris only produces 5 sets of keys that are identified by a specific number of dots. Look at your ignition and there should be a letter (A through E) on the housing. A requires a 1 dot key, B a 2 dot key, C a 3 dot key, and so on until 5. If a friend has a key that matches what your snowmobile requires, you could use it until you purchased a replacement key from a dealer.

Q: Does Polaris still make snowmobiles?
A: Yes! Polaris continues to be a major force in the snowmobiling world, producing some of the sport’s most powerful and capable machines.

Q: What does Polaris snowmobile warranty cover?
A: Polaris snowmobile warranties cover one year with unlimited miles. Expect coverage for defects in material or workmanship, parts and labor charges for repair or replacement of defective parts, and more. Your snowmobile purchase may have also included a Promotional Limited Warranty, which adds onto your standard warranty. Warranties can be transferred to another owner during the warranty period. Visit the official Polaris website for more information on warranty specifics.
